Purchasing Section
Under the supervision of the Administration, the Purchasing Section has been in existence for the last twenty-eight (28) years since its foundation in 1979 by Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company. During those periods, its main role was limited only to procurement of medical and non-medical supplies and facilitates minor repair works of the Hospital.
In 2001, when the Hospitalia Active Health Group joined the Manila Doctors Hospital, the Section scope of services gradually expanded. It has become actively involved in the capital equipment procurement as well as the comprehensive review of medical, laboratory supplies and preventive maintenance services contract agreement.
Through the years, as Manila Doctors Hospital has been expanding and progressing, the Purchasing Section’s perspective has moved towards effective purchasing management leading to enhancement of the organization efficiency and profitability through value analyses.
On the early part of 2004, the Purchasing Section became one of the sections under the Finance Division.
On March 2005, the Management Committee (MANCOM) approved the establishment of the Materials Management Department (MMD) by which the Sections of Purchasing, Central Store and Central Service are now under this department. This MMD is supervised by the Chief Materials Management Officer under the umbrella of the Operations and Hospitality Division (OHD).

In addition, this section also accommodates the photocopying and mimeographing requirements of internal and external clients.
