Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH) took home a Gold Award in the recent 51st Anvil Awards organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) last February 26 at Rizal Ballroom at the Makati Shangri-La, Makati City.
Dubbed as the Oscars of the public relations industry in the Philippines, the Anvil is given to outstanding public relations programs and tools that reflect and promote public interest, good values, and genuine service to the community and society.
Under the Public Relations Program: On a Sustained Basis Environment/Science and Technology category, PRSP recognized MDH for its support of the “Going Green” program, entitled “Going Zero Waste Program” (G-ZWAP). G-ZWAP aims to further streamline waste segregation and reduce the volume of waste generation in the Hospital. The program also improves the effectiveness of the hospital’s Waste Management System by reducing costs and increasing safety in the workplace
G-ZWAP, spearheaded by the MDH Environment and Waste Management Committee, also intends to raise the level of awareness among employees and stakeholders on waste segregation and recovery through an intensified recyclables program.
Deputy Administrative Director Dr. Terrence Cham received the award together with Facilities Management Department Head Engr. Rizaldy Mendoza, Facilities Management Officer Ren Reyes, Hazardous Waste Management Task Force Assistant Lead Person Arthur Mijares and Linen and Housekeeping Department Head Celso Lizano Jr.
