Manila Doctors Hospital, marks its 59th year of excellent medical service this year. Driven by its promise of more top-of-the-line equipment, innovative centers and more specialized medical facilities, on December 8th, MDH inaugurated its new medical tower lobby, located along T.M. Kalaw Street.
With the completion of the 18-storey medical tower, targeted in 2016, the hospital is poised to become a key player not only in the medical tourism industry, but, more importantly in its mission of providing advanced but affordable healthcare services.
The inauguration was graced by Manila City Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada, who praised the hospital’s record of service under the stewardship of Metrobank Group Honorary Chairman Dr. George S.K. Ty. He also stressed his own advocacy in innovating health systems to provide quality health assistance to the marginalized sector.
The new medical tower is expected to increase MDH’s occupancy from 300 to 500 beds. It will also house additional doctors’ clinics, more than 160 parking slots, more medical and diagnostic centers, administrative offices, and a helipad.
The hospital officially welcomed the month of December with Christmas Lighting and Caroling. MDH’s medical, non-medical staff and other employees shared their singing talents at the Lobby Serenade, entrancing patients and guests with their rendered solos and carols. MDH kicked off its anniversary celebration on December 7 with a parade participated in by its medical and non-medical staff.
On December 8, MDH shone the spotlight upon this year’s recipients of the Exemplar Awards for Medical Staff and Employees. The Exemplar Awards is the management’s way of recognizing medical, allied medical and non-medical staff whose professionalism and affirmative attitude have made a positive impact in the workplace and in the daily operations of the Hospital. As a way of paying tribute to top-notch employees, MDH also gave the annual Service Awards as a fitting salute to employees who created an extraordinary and positive impact on the hospital for their 10 to 30 years in service. The anniversary festivities were concluded on December 11 with a Cultural Night presentation
